photo a day: week two.

day 5: smile.  there are many things i like about my husband but his smile is definitely way up there on my list of favourites.

day 6: 5PM.  i was laying on my couch.  like i do most days after i get home from my practicum. 

Imageday 7: something you wore.  when i bought my new glasses i thought i would only wear them sometimes to dress up, but they are a everyday thing now a day. a kindergarden kid looked at me the other day and said, “i like your huge glasses!”  i decided to take it as a compliment. haha. and the earrings are my new favourite picked out by my sister and bought by my mom.  thanks.

day 8: window.  we went skiing again this week.  pre-skiing we stopped in at the thrift store and the station arts centre for soup and yogurt.  lovely day.  this was out the window as we sat and waited for our soup.

 day 9: red.  it was late and i was in my car.  this was all i could see that was red.

day 10: loud.  this is lovely little wooden speaker that j made.  so creative he is.  it requires no electricity. it’s just wood.  and somehow he made it so it makes our music from our iphones louder.  it really is brilliant and you are welcome to come over and see it in person. 

Imageand finally day 11:  someone you talked to.  i talked to this little girl twice today.  first at her house.  with her mom and dad. then at her grandma’s where j and i ate supper tonight.  i love this little girl so so much.

and here’s a few extra from this week’s activities… 

as mentioned we went to the thrift store in rosthern – which i highly recommend to all.  if you scroll back, i think i’ve mentioned it more than once on this little blog. the buttons looked so great.

and finally – to add to the longest blog post ever… 

i read this this week.  not everyday is fun and bliss.  i start feeling sorry for myself thinking i’m too busy.  it’s a cycle i have – i had it before my practicum and it’s something i have now. but if i’m going to be honest i’m not.  and i want to start to think this way.  to consciously choose the way i spend my time.

 I was challenged by these words in the post (article), 

“Change your language. Instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don’t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: “I’m not going to edit your résumé, sweetie, because it’s not a priority.” “I don’t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.” If these phrases don’t sit well, that’s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently.”  

so yay to changing my language, to purposefully choosing where i will spend my time.  i’m going to try it anyway and see how it goes…
